And by the way, I'm green to all this, this is my first sportscar, I've always wanted a camaro since I was a kid, now I'm 34. A crying shame, I know!

Headers and a 150-shot of nitrous with a good transmission calibration.

I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoy your Camaro. Don't worry about "one up" people. You will live a healthier life. No matter what you do there will always be a Badder Boy down the block.

Take is slow, don't jump into anything fast. The first thing to do is to start with a Cold Air Intake. Mine is by Cold Air Inductions and It added about 12-15hp to my Camaro. You don't have to get new headers and cats, just replace your exhaust. I put on Flowmaster's Amercan Thunder Series (you can do it yourself) and got another 25hp out of it.
Between the two, I've got plenty additional hp to make a difference on the road and a really great grumble/rumble when she starts and drives. That's all I wanted and I'm happy with it. Start there, drive it like that for a few months and if you like it then you are done. If you feel you still need more power, then you can go for more. And SSOOCH is right, be happy with your Camaro and don't worry about what the other guys/gals got under the hood. Good Luck with your new Baby! Lani

Dont believe the 5.0 hype is a good start. They run right on par with Camaros. Get him to a track and see what happens stock for stock.

L99 here. Start with a headers/exhaust/cai/good dyno tune on the motor and trany. This will add a good 50 HP. Next do the Supercharger and another good dyno tune. That will add another 150 HP. The sky's the limit after that. This is what I have done and lately I've added Meth/water injection. I'm at 550 rwhp. Next spring I may do a cam/lifters to put me over the 600 rwhp range. Good luck and have fun. Quit worrying about others. There will always be someone faster.

Stock to stock, they both are EQUAL. The Camaro is NOT faster then the mustang and the mustang is NOT faster then the Camaro. A '11 GT vs a Camaro SS is a drivers race. If he wins it's because he is a better driver then you are. If you win it's because you are a better driver then he is. If you switched cars you would get the same results. Do NOT believe any talk that one is faster then the other. |

They will smoke you off the line and there's not enough track to catch up in a 1/4 mile. BTW... I can take him now... |

ahh don't sweat it,, But If it really bothers you, then I bet Intake/ Tune will wake it up nicely.
On my previous car (Pontiact G8 GT) I had Catback/ Vararam Air Intake/ Superchips Engine/Transmission Tune.. And it turned it into a whole new beast! The transmission tune was phenomenal!
