Either thats a happy dyno or those engines are under rated a bit. 470 crank -> 420 wheel means 11% drive line loss, which simply doesn't happen. 13-14% loss (seems to be about normal for manuals these days) puts it at around 485 at the crank. Unless of course, the dyno is being generous, which we won't know unless we see what other stock cars do on it. If an LS3 Camaro spits out ~380 hp on it, I'd say its pretty safe to say the extra power is in the dyno.

Still not to impressive considering the premium that this car brings. I would take a GT500 for a little bit more money any day. Come on Dodge get with the program. Make you car run at good as it looks.

It is right between the higher end SS/GTs and the GT500 so it is DEFINATLY not overpriced, it just depends on what you want out of a car and if the 4k difference (base GT500 vs base SRT8) and the same between the others.

That's true I suppose. I guess that I'm just bitter because I really wanted a challenger that performs like a GT500. I just hope that since Dodge didn't do it, that GM does with the Z/28. Then all will be right with the world again.

GT500 starts at $49,495. SRT8 (425 hp 6.1L) starts at $43,680. Prices include destination and gas tax (if applicable)

the new SRT is I believe 42,555. Alot of dealers will add a ADM, but good ones dont, like Bob Frederick. Thus, factor in TTL & GG tax and you're talking about 44,000. Just about 4,000 under the GT500 and about 6,000 over a loaded 2SS
