Anybody taken on an SRT8 Challenger?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had enough miles to try using the auto-launch feature or just manual style to do a 1/4 mile drag race with an SRT8 Challenger. They look like they should be very close. I plan to get out to the strip and take on my neighbor who just got a 2009 SRT8 Challenger, he wants to test his out.

Nope. I've only seen one Chally when I was in my car. It was an older lady who complimented me on the car and I returned the compliment and asked her if she wants to race. (laughing of course, not serious) she said "Give me a head start", I just laughed. I think she figured mine was just faster or she was joking. It was a white Challenger SRT. Not an SRT8.

No but i think you should walk it. Don't they run a mid 13 1/4 mile?
I was challenged by a SVT lightning. Close close close race. He said he runs 12.8 at the track.

2150, No SRT8, but that avatar looks like a contender!

Should be a drivers race with both cars being a manual.

Raced one on the interstate. I came up beside him and as soon as he looked over and saw me he stomp it. He jump about a car lenght in front of me, I drop it down in third and waved at him as I passed him.

If it's a driver's race, I'm going to be a bit disappointed when I receive my 2SS manual. I've owned a '07 Superbee and thought it was way too slow and heavy off the line (same chassis as the Challenger, automatic only though on the Charger body). The new Camaro isn't exactly svelte, but since I didn't drive one before ordering I hope I'm not disappointed in the performance. My favorite 400hp-range car to date was an '04 Cobra Mystichrome vert that ran super stong all day long. I have the same expectations of the Camaro. I sat in a 1SS the other day, and it's a sweet car albeit with a cheap hard plastic interior - so I'm expecting the LS3 to make up the difference. Please tell me it will! :upset:

Not many challengers were I'm from but just got 500 miles on mine today so if I see one I'll try her out. Don't think I'll be dissapointed!

I took on one going down the highway the other day and got out ahead of him pretty good. I'm sure the Camaro is quicker, but it wasn't as bad as when I took a '10 GT Mustang by like 3 car lengths.
