That being said, I don't know what to think of this run. I only went to like 85 or 86 MPH before I backed off so it wasn't a quarter mile. I set the vehicle weight about 200 lbs too light because I didn't account for me in the car and I only put 3800 lbs. and I know it's a little more than that. So anyway had I added the correct weight, the horse power would read a little higher.

Straight, flat road. 3:30 in the morning so nice and cool (for Bama) and I reved to about 2000 rpm before letting off the break and getting on the gas.

Anyway, check it out. I can't wait to try it again.

Which App is that? Seemed like pretty good numbers. Your not happy with that?

Maybe that's the key. Maybe the computer sets a threshhonld and you just have to 'raise the ber' so to speak.

Just try running the lexus with the iphone and see what you get, so you have another datapoint.

Running this weekend.

Funny you should ask that. Yes, it did seem faster. I watched the speed climb and when the run was over I KNEW it would read good. Wasn't sure what to expect but I did forget to look at the shift point out of first gear.

I haven't done any racing yet, nor any timed runs of any sort, but I definitely do not feel like this car lacks power. If I gun it, I actually feel myself getting slammed back to the seat. I'm only at ~300 miles though, and I've kept it under 4k rpm, so I can only imagine what it will be like later! So far, I am incredibly pleased

Dynolicous. If they are accurate then I'm absolutely happy with it. Not sure how accurate the numbers can be. Considering I was about 200+ pounds light on the weight I put in for the car (I put 3800 lbs.) then even the HP numbers would be about 15 to 20 higher whitch would put it in the range.

If it is just the learn thing FBodfather described I sure don't like that. My wife will drive the car more frequently and not as hard as I will. When I am in the car I don't want to get beat down by a lexus or even a Ford Mustang GT or Challenger because the car learned it is not being pushed very hard. It is a V8 with 400 HP and it should unleash that HP whenever I freakin want it to. That being said I have driven the car more aggressivley and I don't believe I have a currentl power issue. But currently I have put over 550 of the 640 miles currently on it.

Just a side note I changed the oil today reset miles per gallon and I am magically getting 17.4 over the previous 14.2. And after the oil change I really opened her up several times.

Well, that's the only common thread me an Scott seem to have. I think we babied ours too much. If I had it to do over again I'd run it wide open from the beggining. Mine seems to be possibly shaping up now that I'm full throttle all the time.

IF it's a computer 'learning' thing, it may be a threshhold deal. Where it sets to the highest level you drive at. Then it would allways be there.

I would hope that you are correct and your car was broken in according the manual and your computer learned a lower threshold. I am afraid the computer may learn the average driving habits and set itself according to those paramaters.

Imagine beating your car to redline all the time and getting max HP. Now say Bonnie drives it for a few months and gets on it some but not like you. Is the computer going to relearn her habits as it did yours for the first 1500 miles Just imagine letting someone else drive it more conservativley for a while. Is this going to be the what happens? I sure hope not and that you are more correct in it setting a threshold at the highest level driven.

I say if you ask for 400 HP the computer should give it to you regardless of what it thinks it has learned.

I bought a car that cost me 37K and I want the 400HP 0-60 4.7 performance I was told it would have. I do not want some silly thing learning that since I do not get on it everyday it will be slow today

Not bad. Based on your 1/8th MPH, your car would have trapped ~105.3, which I think seems right.
