Engine Dies when Turn AC on if in Gear - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

If I am in park and turn the AC on it is ok, but if I put it in gear the engine dies. Anybody heard of this before?

I have heard of something similar-
If the engine has too much of a load, it can cut out.
In a lot of cars, if the AC is on, and the engine is a t idle and you turn the steering wheel to either extreme side, the engine will stall.

sounds like you need to up your idle on your tune?

Yeah, it's something that happened to me once on a Korean car with a 1.2 liter engine.

Shouldn't be happening to you!

But it happens driving down the road as well, not just idle. I do however think I may know the culprit behind this, but have no idea why they are related. I think the issue is a faulty Nitrous Fuel solenoid allowing fuel to be sprayed in the motor. It isn't on the AC circuit so I don't see the connection but for grins I disconnected the line and the AC worked without killing the motor. Coincidence??
