On a somewhat related note, the shift feel and clutch feel on the V6 camaro is superb!

I'm with Flighttester on this one. I've no intention of buying a Camaro with an automatic. Tapshift is not an acceptable substitute.

Limited means it aims to mitigate the inequality of power between the rear wheels, not eliminate it. Otherwise it would be a Non-slip, non-differential, since that's what a differential is for.

For the newbie, the reason a differential is needed is because any time a car turns, the outside wheels travel a greater distance than the inside wheels. If this difference is not rectified mechanically, stress on the driveline will be encountered and will either most likely find its relief through tire drag or in extreme cases, mechanical failure of driveline pieces.
This is a great answer!

I would have to agree but I can't because I have had operations on my knee and live in Dallas. I'm going to get the auto but back when I was in my 20's I wouldn't be caught dead in an auto.

I'll be getting the manual, but I expect they will be very close in the 1/4. Around a road course? The manual should win hands down.

Yeah - she's doing much better now.

My left leg is doing just fine though, so manual only for me!

Well while this thread is jacked, I'll go along. I'm 21 and both my knees are shot too. I went out for a spin on GMR today (enjoying a fresh set of Nitto Neo Gens!) and since the stock seats in the Cobalt LS suck something awful, I had to work my left leg against the dead pedal hard just to stay in a good driving position, and it killed me after a while. I'll still be getting the manual though. For now, the knee pain (which isn't too frequent) isn't enough to overcome the extra fun of the manual. Good to hear that the clutch action is good. How do you know this xanthos? Now my only decision is between a 1LT RS or a 1SS.

I got to sit in Number 3's test car and play around with the clutch and shifter feel. Can't say how they'll feel under heavy load, but they felt really good with it sitting still. At least, good for my preference. Not sure about yours. The clutch was light enough to where you shouldn't have a problem with it hurting too much, but stiff enough right at the very end to let you know its engaged.

Only if you have an auto LS, or LT. EVERY manual Camaro has a limited slip.
