Alfie, don't despair...most threads end up hi-jacked by the lowest common denominator...
How could you expect a thread that asks to hear from those who try not to put a lot of miles on their cars, to not be answered by those who just don't get it?

I work hard for my car and every mod I put in it. Im just one of those guys that doesnt have a huge retirement or salary for such things as toys aka "weekend driven only if its a perfect day'" car.

A good friend and fellow camaro owner once told me......

"U know what I don't get? People who buy cars and then store them for the nxt 20 years.....that's like dating a super model and not touching her because you want the next guy to enjoy her."

IMO you only live once. enjoy everything you have like no tomorrow.

In a few years, the roads will be full them, as the used market brings prices down....so enjoy it now IMHO.

No, its a toy and you couldn't possibly know what my car was meant for, but I do, because my name is on the title. Its not a DD; it's never been driven to work, I never go shopping with it and it's never-ever been parked unattended. Delivered 2-1/2 years ago on 10/8/09 and it has 5400 miles on the odometer.
It's never been in the rain....don't even ask about the winter. I clean it with a Cal Duster and wipe down the wheels and engine bay after every ride. Its covered with a soft Lycra cover every night in a heated garage. I even clean and dust off the undercarriage components. Every couple of months or so, I take off each wheel, wipe down the inside of the wheel housings (tubs), brake calipers and those pretty red Pedder's coil springs....etc, etc.

.......and it cranks out 650 HP at the flywheel.

Alfie
the ONLY part that has anything to do with the OP has been high lighted for you. as for the rest...well if it doesnt make you look like a self indulged DB then i guess were good

I have a 2010 2SS and I picked it up on 12/23/09 just someone else mentioned. It is not my daily driver and I live in California, so I don't need to store it away for winter
(12,500 miles-weekend driver).

Last July, I purchased a frame-off restored 1967 SS/RS Marina Blue Camaro, and I find myself driving the heck out of it. And it finds its way into the daily driver this semester because of great weather.

What can I say, "I think they are both real kickers to drive."

Sad waste of a fun car, sorry.

How many miles ya got 905? My honest opinion (at risk of inflaming this festering thread any further) is that the original post was designed to be a nose-up party: for those that don't drive their cars to look down on those that do. Of course there are going to be conflicting opinions. And since the topic of conversation revolves solely around two polar perspectives, (both equally entwined in the topic) this one's never gonna get any prettier. Neither side is going to "get" the other, no matter how long this rambles on.

I'm smelling lock, and not a minute too soon.

With all due respect, I guess you and your friend don't get it.

It's not like I'm dating a supermodel and never touching her; it's more like I'm making love to her everyday for 20 years and she'll never get old, fat, tired, and wrinkled.

Think about that. Using your analogy; my car will always be fresh, young, eager, and willing.

Alfie
Alfie you ever think you will look back and wish you drove that car more. ? when you are really old and see that crazy camaro sitting there with just 15k miles on ?

idk i feel i when i get older i just wont care about keeping a car in that good shape for years to come. because at that point in my life i will want to enjoy life and my car.
