Question Last Step M6 > 4L80e (Neutral Safety connection and Backup)

Guys ... looking for a last piece of help here.....

Guys - I will post this in the DietCoke thread also - but "very close" to having my 4L80e installed (Matt thanks as always for the support and DSS parts on the 4L80 shaft).

The one thing we have left open is the "neutral safety switch" and what supported harness or other should we be using to connect this to? ..... Mine is an M6 > 4L80e conversion. The main reason I want this is obviously backup lights, but also the fact it triggers my backup camera which I do use pulling into the water box - trailer - other. ....

Tremendous people here so appreciate if you could help. I have searched all over and will continue to do so....

This thread pulled up when I was searching for something else, I just thought I'd chime in and offer another solution to the controller part of this install - we make a 6L80e to 4L80e swap harness with a controller - makes that side of things extremely easy. Best part is it is using a GM controller, so when you get to tuning the car, you read it out and tune it just like you would any other engine/4L80e combo. No having to use a separate controller or miss out on the great things that factory GM operating systems have to offer transmission wise...

About to do this conversion, did you ever figure out how to make all ur backup lights and reverse camera to work? I'm a M6 going to 4l80 also. Thanks

NO - Matt currently I am good to go but here is what I am missing (1 of which is a bit odd)

- Reverse Lights and Trigger for backup Cam ---- I figured if I needed to make the backup lights work I would wire them on a momentary trigger at the shifter. But no.

- The one that bugs me is my speedo is working - has been all along - but I can't log VSI off of OBD thru HP Tuners. This is odd since I know this is likely feeding via a correction calculation from the ABS into the Speedo but no logging on VSI.

Matt Sorian with FSP was working one and hope he has this worked out but has preen really busy.

Please let us know if you resolve.

Hey how did your build come out? I should be finishing mine tonight. I have to find the wire that tells the lights/camera to come on so I can hook it to the reverse switch that came with the shifter. Anybody know where this wire is?????

Added: Shifter mod, swap harness, optishift placement, new fabbed trans mount, fixed some typos and updated some info and links. As always, if there is something you feel should be added please PM me and we can get it added
