1LE miles per tank?
How many miles do you 1LE owners get out of a tank? I test drove a new 13 1LE and I loved it except when I saw only 225 miles to empty on a full tank of gas :(. Is this common?

I didn't buy a 1LE for gas mileage.
If I wanted 226 miles to empty on a full tank...I would have bought a Prius.

I realize that part but this is coming from a 4th gen SS owner who was getting 400 miles to a tank through an automatic. I'm not looking for great gas mileage out of a tank, I'm looking to do some comparison on miles per tank compared from my 4th gen SS to a 5th gen 1LE. The car will get 90% highway miles

90% hwy, you oughta see more than it's telling you...mine creeps up towards 22 pretty quickly on the hwy here (in 6th, around 55-60mph) before I have to exit. But it's my weekend toy, not concerned about mpg, I was just curious one day when I was going to Waikiki

I refill once I get down to half a tank and average around 17mpg. Only taken it on one highway trip and averaged close to 23mpg.

It all really depends on how you drive it.
When I am playing on the weekends, I am averaging 15.6 mpg, when I am commuting for work (It's 105mi, 1-way), I have achieved a best case 25.1mpg doing the speed limit with the air on. A realistic average for highway is probably around 22mpg. At 17.5 gallons max before fill-up (leaving 1.5g reserve), will net you 385mi per tank. I personally love the sound of the NPP and have a hard time achieving max mpg. If that were my highest concern, I probably wouldn't have traded my 3.6l in. The Miles of Smiles are worth the drop in MPG to me. |

Miles to empty is calculated based on current mpg. A new car with no miles on it isn't going to register high.
I got 24 this weekend on the highway cruising 75 mph. |

^that was actually my next question of where do you guys shift. The one I test drove I was shifting under 2k but I'm thinking with the npp exhaust everyone and then I'd let her wind up more If this is my only negative other than the 4th gen being paid off and making car payments the decision is pretty clear thank you guys!

Depending on where I get gas at, I average around 295-358 per fill-up. Life of being in Cali 10% ethanol based gas. Currently averaging 18.3-18.5. It's my daily driver. I usually shift around 2500-3000. Getting on it every now and again I'll shift is around 4500-5000

The overdrive (6th) gear is .57:1 on the 1LE, so use 6th gear whenever possible, you'll get good mileage. Around town its going to be in the 15's, but if you're going on a trip, no reason you can't get in the low 20's. All depends on how much you put your foot into it, self control is the key.
