F my life. Polished scratched up HELP!
Pulling in a spot today and I managed somehow to scrap a part of the tire and rim across the curb. I am in complete and total disbelief right now that this just happened. The tire has white on it from the curb but I'm sure it'll wash off but the edge of the rim is scraped pretty good along that edge. I can't possibly imagine that there's a way to fix it but I'm hoping someone on here has some ideas. Even if I could minimize the appearance.
I don't have a pic right now but I'll post one later if it's needed. I can barely type this right now cause I'm somewhere between tears and beating the hell out of the first random person I see. |

curb rash is fixable depending on how deep it is but you could definitely make it better.. i plastidipped my rims and one of them had curb rash on but now you cant even see it.
theres a diy on how to sand it down and make it more even but you have to clear coat over it.

But is painting them required or am I looking at even the slightest possibility of having the rim look decent still polished?
Sand, fill, and paint was the first thing that came to mind but I kind of like the Polished |

Scratch-fix 2 in one paint
I got mine scratched and I used Dupli-color Scratch Fix 2in1 paint with color code NG GM 340.
After some sanding I hardly cant see the scratcehs anymore

As far s sanding goes I know i should finish with 3000 grit but what grit should I start at? Wet sand throughout or more so when I'm getting towards the end and finer grit? |

Its tough to give advice on grits and fill materials with no pics of what the damage looks like. It depends on the depth of the damage for what I'd recommend to fix it. Calm down and post some pics tomorrow in the light of day. Its frustrating and would piss me off too but its also very fixable.
You'll get better advice once the pics are up but thats my suggestion to start with. |

There are companies that you can find online that will fix curb rash and even pay for the shipping both ways...I got a quote for $120 for mine. I know how you feel, I did it within 2 weeks of having the car, lol...
