Is there a top speed limiter 2011 SS Camaro?

How do I remove the top speed limiter or is there one on the 2011 SS Camaro?

I don't want to remove rev limiter.

I saw a youtube video of someone getting about 180mph and a completely stock Camaro with no problems. So maybe there isn't one but was just curious.

It should be limited at 155 mph. It can be removed with a tuner.

Where might this be? All I can find is tricked out 4th Gens. Given the drag that would come into play at those speeds I'm thinking even 160 would hard to do given the shape of the 5th Gen.

There was someone out in the desert that got the car up to around 170 to 175 but that probably took several miles to get. It wont go any more than that due to wind resistance.

Unless i'm mistaken, we've had a few get their stock Camaro's to around 170. This was obviously with the speed limiter removed. I think a turbo'd Camaro went 180 in the texas mile, year or so ago. That's 0-180 in a mile though. Not sure what it would have topped out at.

Its not, Gran Turismo 5 is a video game. It even says in the video description its from the game. The fact that it looks close to real says a lot about how video games are these days:

I've been in the tune on my Dad's 2011 LS3 car. There was no speed limiter there to begin with. I can't speak for the autos, but this was the case on the stick. He bought the car new, so I'm confident I was the first to mess with it. Besides, if someone tuned it, the skip shift would have been gone, too. It's one of the few differences from the 2010 tunes I've looked at.

After doing some research, I found a couple of posts saying that the reason there a speed governor is because of the tire speed rating.

My '11 SS has Perelli P Zero 245/45ZR20 103Y XL and the speed rating is 103Y (rated over 186mph).

Is it possible that there isn't a speed limitation other than the rev governor?

Not worth it to 'test' unless you go someplace it is legal to do so. You get caught going anywhere near that fast you will end up in jail and loose the car. Not to mention what happens when a tire fails or anything else unexpected happens. (you'll be traveling more than 200 feet a second at those speeds)
