What Happens if My Dealer Goes Bust?
I was visiting a new Chevy Dealership that had a 2010 Camaro in the showroom. He asked if I ordered from them and I replied that I never knew they were a Chevy Dealership (they have Caddy, Buick & Pontiac).
He replied that GM shut down the other Chevy Dealership and gave their dealership the Chevy brand. He also told me that I should call the dealer that I placed my Camaro order with to make sure that "they are still in business". YIKES! What would happen to my order? Do I then lose my pre-order status and get back on the end of the line?

Dealers that are in financial turmoil (with GMAC floorplan) will not be receiving cars from GM (including Camaro) because of their inability to pay for them.
Once your car is built, it may not get shipped to your dealer ever. GM has not told us what happens in those instances. I know they offer us "warehouse" units that have been taken from dealer's lots that are now closed down.

Total of 2600 GM dealerships to be eliminated by 2010. Wow!
http://www.cnbc.com/id/30458421/for/cnbc/ I wonder if anyone knows of a list that shows the dealerships that are the worst performers. That would be interesting. It would be nice to know if my dealership is one of the first 1000 to go.
