The "top guard" is retractable if you don't intend to put the top down, which will provide you w. more trunk space. However, it must be in place in order to put the top down, which will cut down considerably on the amount of trunk space. With top guard in place, you can also fit some things under it but NEVER on top of it.
So true, Baba. Anything put on top of the retractable shield is likely to break the irreplaceable (without a new top) and therefore VERY expensive back window. I used to complain about the DIC messages re: the shade not being pulled out, but didn't after I realized they were trying to save me from breaking a very expensive part!

If that window breaks, you need a new top. GM didn't build in a provision to replace it. Brilliant right? I think really stupid but that is just my opinion

Question

Does anyone make a hard trunk divider that would keep somthing heavy from sliding around and maybe break the rear window while driving with the top down? It could also prevent something to slide up against the fexible divider while the top is up and keep you from lowering it.

Not what I was talking about, but thanks anyway. I was thinking more on the lines of a solid panel that not only protects the top when down but hides the ugly pouch it folds down into.

Your should be able to get an archery case in there fine, quite possibly the practice target as well. If you keep the top up, move the top protection divider and it free's up more room too. I like the full size spare idea! Never would have thought that thing would fit back there.

That would be a tough one, whatever you build it has to make it through the trunk opening to be put into place.

It could be made in 2 sections that either screw or snap together and could also use Velcro.

True, i do like what the forum members do here, lots of talented people. I'm Sure someone will come up with something.
That archery set should fit in, but it might have to be unstrung first. You might have to put some foam on the corners of the bow just so it doesn't hit the water management bag but she should go.

Thanks again. Going to look to buy at or near year end. Sometimes I have three bows in the car so I will have to go test that out.

I can fit two sunday golf bags into my trunk with the top down, if I pull the driver and woods out of the bags and put those in seperately. The driver is too long to go in sideways but the woods aren't a problem.. I usually use my sunday bag when I want to play after work and have to "hide" the golf equiptment with the top down.

I haven't tried my full bag I just put that in the back seat.
