Yeah the hood wasnt that dirty. Once it starts raining maybe I can get a better shot. It does look much better after the product and I am interested to see if it repels any water.

I just dont tend to let my ride get too dirty

I use Adams VRT. The trick is to follow the example in their video and to buff it by hand with scratch free towel. The results are great! If you don't buff by hand and only apply with the foam applicator then VRT yields a horribly streaky mess. I like VRT b/c it has UV protection and claims to protect the hood from fading over time. I used to only apply once every 2-3 month b/c of the streaky mess but now that I understand how to properly buff and smooth the product I'm doing it ever 2-3 washes; I was weekly.

Someone on this forum suggested using "Back to Black". DON'T DO IT. It's a mess on this hood and crap will stick to your hood worse than the road dirt on our 1LE's sticky tires.

I really like Chemical Guys' products. Somewhere on this forum I posted a comparison of all their wash products. Look for it. It's neat. If the Meticulous Matte product also has UV protection I might try it when I run out of VRT.

My experience too and McGuires detailer removes spots between washes.

Washing alone doesn't add any protection

Love my Meticulous Matte! Chemical Guys definitely have they're crap together! Don't get that fake and cheap looking shine like the competitors...

If and when you switch product for the vinyl, does anyone know if you need to "deep clean" it and if so, how? I'm using SVRT now and might give MM another try. I thought vinyl was porous and am wondering if putting MM on without getting all the SVRT off (i.e. including anything that might leech from the pores) will cause problems.

Probably a couple of washes would do it
