Black rectangular box behind mirror - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I just took delivery of my 2014 ZL1 today. I noticed a rectangular black box on the windshield behind the rear view mirror on the passenger side. Does anyone know what this is? I have owned two 5h gm SS camaros and neither had this on e windshield. Is this the sensor for g-force perhaps?

My ZL1 is a manual transmission. No remote start is available for it. The box looks similar but goes side to side instead of up and down. Will post a pic tomorrow.

It's a self destruct box full of C4 in case someone steals it! LOL

Here is a pic. It does look very similar to the pic above. I don't understand why a remote start component would be in this vehicle given remote start is not functional in a manual transmission.

does your car have lane departure warning system option this kinda looks like the camera for this

I don't believe that's an option on a ZL1.

It is - I have the same box on my 2014 ZL1. My dealer couldn't tell me what it was either.

Its part of OnStar and Cellular antenna I do believe

I think you should have got what everybody gets when they buy a new car. It is called a manual. You might want to read in it I bet it will tell you what it is you are asking about. It might even tell you more about the car than you think you know!
