Ideally, you want Korean made, 70/30, 800+ GSM towels. Those are the best. I like theragcompany.com

I only use Korean made "Dry Me a River" waffle towels for drying.

These are the Everest 800. Great towels

The Eagle Edgeless are my rinseless and polish removal towels.

These are my multi use towels. China made 70/30. I bought a case of 175.

Yeah, if you're not "geeked" out on the technical details of microfiber, a good starting point is to stay away from all microfiber made in China.

Personal experience:
The rag company under their "Korean" section:
http://www.theragcompany.com/korean-...iber-products/

ALL of Adams Polishes, and Griots Garage towels they sell are safe.

We use a ton of different towels (brands, sizes, GSM, etc.) for all different uses.

As far as great plush towels to use for a variety of different things at a good price, would be the Chemical Guys Happy Ending towels. They have a few different colors as well to keep them separate for different uses.

But if you want me to list out all the different towels we use, I will!

I use waffle weave for drying, dedicated white ones for glass and there are multiply ones for other purposes. Autogeek has a great microfiber guide.

Never new how uneducated on micro fiber towels. Man now I'm scared to use anything that does not have to be ordered and cost a lot. :(

Yes. That fear is well placed. Walmart and autozone towels are all China made 80/20's.

Solid advice here, other than the point on 800gsm minimum (respectfully). That's a pretty heavy towel, and plenty of applications may be easier with lower weight towels (waterless washing, glass cleaning, cleaning engine bay and other grimy areas). Just generally make sure it's a high quality, lower pile towel (gsm is just weight, not a measure of quality) for those types of things (other than engine bay, etc, can use the cheaper stuff for that).

Super surprised no one has asked this yet.

What do you need the towels for?

The rag company is absolutely the best place to buy towels. There's no real reason to buy them anywhere else.

If you can give us an idea of what you're going to do with the towels we can probably narrow down that search quite a bit. Here's some general advice:

You want korean microfiber, 70/30 blend, and probably at least 400 GSM (softness for lack of a better word) for anything that is going to touch paint. I prefer towels without edges for my rinseless so I use these (which have been recommended a few times):

http://www.theragcompany.com/product...ber-towel.html

If you want to do a waterless wash, you'll want the softest you can get. I use these for waterless washing. They are a 70/30 blend, but 1100 GSM. This makes for a very plush, thick towel. I wouldn't use these for anything else (i think they're just too thick) aside from a waterless wash.

http://www.theragcompany.com/product...ber-towel.html

For drying, I absolutely love these and I've tried a million different drying towels.

http://www.theragcompany.com/product...ber-towel.html

Hopefully that covers you, if not, like I said, give us some details and we can help you out.

Cheap microfiber (costco, chemical guys, whatever) sucks bad and WILL scratch your paint.

Yeah, I am just saying that if I had my preference, every towel that I used would be this one:

http://www.theragcompany.com/product...ber-towel.html

but at $5/towel, that ain't happening obviously. There are plenty of applications for a cheap, 80/20, china-made junk towel.

Thanks, I think this is enough to guide me

What I use towels for is the same as any one else I think
Glass, Paint - wax, glaze, drying, interior - cleaning, vrt

How about best place for applicators to apply vrt to tires?

Thanks for all the help!
