If you want a car that provides every comfort and performance feature that a Camaro can offer...go for the ZL1. Hands down winner, all tiime.

...and so it goes for I.....from a pureists standpoint on performance over comfort.

...this is true. The Z28 will be pricey, and low numbered. One has better get a hook somehow, or gain an inway with a dealer who will get an allocation and hope he is smiled upon by the Chevy deities to receive delivery. All bets are off
to obtain delivery. Expect any outcome.

And why, when the ZL1 is the Crown Royal all encompassing Camaro of all time?

Because the ZL1 wasn't good enough to be the Z/28. Check out a few of the parts on your car and you will see Z/28 stamped on them but GM made the right choice.

The brilliant fitment of Pedders 305/30/19s on the Z/28 is the PERFECT choice for the 5th Gen.

CARBON CERAMIC BRAKES!

Dry sump system.

I'll take normally aspirated power over supercharged all day every day.

LOL!!!!! Nice try, Two different purposes....here we go again. .

Simply put...if you are going to spend 50%+ of your time on the track...buy the Z/28. If not, buy the ZL1. You can make the ZL1 as fast as the Z/28 on the road course if you want to strip and mod it but you will not likely get the Z/28 to ride as comfortably as the ZL1 with the Magnetic Ride. I am betting the ZL1 will be faster on the strip than the Z/28 (stock -vs- stock) but I could be wrong.

If you live where it gets hot in the summer, remember that air conditioning is an option (which add about 100+ to the Z/28). Want to listen to a radio with more than one speaker? Again, add a about 25lbs worth of speakers. See where I am going with this? Then add about $10K+ to the price of the ZL1 for the Z/28.

In my mind, unless you are a track guy, and by that I mean you are buying the car for the track, the Z/28 a little too specialized for my taste. But I get why they built it and I love the fact they did.

I was really hoping GM was gonna put the supercharger on the 427 in the ZL1. Then again, maybe in 2015 or something.

100+ lbs?, for AC? and 25 lbs for speakers?

It really should be a simple choice when you think about it. Even though they are both Camaros it is apples and oranges.
