Car and Driver lightning lap times for the Solstice GXP was 3:15.7
An 2010 Camaro SS tested at 3:09.5
The later SS have improved suspension tweaks and should best that time from Feb 2010 pretty easily if you have a 2012 or newer.

I agree

"A Pontiac Solstice just set a new track record for the fastest lap at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn. Piloted by 18-year-old Andrew Aquilante, the Solstice won its first Showroom Stock B (SSB) race and managed a record-setting lap time of 1:03:930. "Lime Rock rewards nimbleness, agility and braking over outright power," said John Heinricy of GM Performance Division. "With strong early performances, the Pontiac Solstice is demonstrating it will be a tough competitor in SSB for years to come." This was taken from Popular Hot Rodding Magazine. This is a very good lap time on this course for a showroom stock car.

It set a new track record for the SSB class, correct? "the Solstice's fastest lap (1:18:811) set a new track record for the SSB class".

SSB is made up of entries like the Acura RSX-S, BMW Z-4, Honda Civic, Mazda MX-5 and Pontiac Solstice.
It's the slowest class from what I read.

On most tracks, a Camaro SS would easily beat a Solstice.

On a very tight track with basically no straight sections, the Solstice would would have the advantage.
But add some straight sections to the track and the Camaro SS will run much faster lap times.

Thinking of trading my Camaro SS for one of these bad boys in GXP manual setup or Clubsport if I can find one. Thinking of going to a lighter platform for track use.
