2010 SS vs 2008 Z06

so given the same driver: How much hp do I need to run down a 2008 Z06(505hp crank) at the drag strip? I think the Z's have just as much problem with wheel hop as we do.....what do you guys think?

His Z is stock with only and intake and axle back exhaust.
He won't mod anymore because he doesn't want to blow and exhaust valve or void the warranty....what's it take to beat him? 475whp? 500? more?

Assuming you have a LS3.....a good cam, headers, catback, CAI, and a tune will give you sufficient power to POSSIBLY compete with a C6 Z06. You'll need shorter height rear wheels/tires (preferably DR with 18" wheels) and aftermarket trailing arms to be able to cut a good 60 ft. The most difficult task for you will be to get a perfect launch off the line.

What tires is he running? What about you? At those power levels tires are as important as anything.

right now I just have the stock 20s. The car is going under the knife soon. installing a 231/239ish cam, cats and arh headers. only mods right now are corsa exhaust and cai intake-looking for 470 at the wheels hopefully.

Have not lined up with one on a drag strip. But at the air strip (Unprepared surface)with my stock tires a stock 427 Z06 made my Camaro look slow for a good bit. It took ALL 624rwhp from my LS3 with a V3 to run him down.
Keep in mind as the speed goes up that Z06 has a huge Aerodynamic advantage. So it takes even more power to keep up lol. If he ever decides to heads and cam that motor look out!

Thankfully I think he will be stock for a long time due to the exhaust valves that have been destroying motors....without a warranty some guys have run into a 15k new motor bill to get their cars back on the road.

I used to have a cam/bolt on ls3 that was damn near 500whp. Would it have beaten a Z06 (with a competent driver) on the track? Nope. Your hope is for him to not be the best driver, then you'll get him
