I would rahter have my nuts chewed off by a rabid dog--
than buy an electric car.

Rode in one this weekend at the car show...it a nice vehicle, hi-tech. I hope Chevy does well with it to keep the brand alive.

I got to drive one at the Kansas City auto show. Nice car. I would love nothing more than to have my Camaro and a Volt. That is kind of a plan I have in the back of my mind. Keep the Camaro, pay it off, and buy a Volt a few years down the road. I would do it now but it's just not realistic at the moment. In a few years time it will make a heck of a lot of sense. Keep the Camaro as my gasoline powered vehicle for the rest of my life and drive electric from here on out. I am sure this will catch on with a lot of enthusiasts as time goes on. I think it is clear now that the electric car is here to stay this time and my Camaro will always be a nice car to roll in on the weekends in the summer.

If gas prices keep going the way they are that may be a pleasant experience compared to the pain at the pump.

Give me your Camaro, and I will give you an 88 Cavalier and 10grand. The money will cover your gas and at least you will just look poor, not stupid.

You've been living on the left coast far too long. Then again, the Volt exhaust probably wouldn't upset the mating habit of the spotted owl.

I bought a Prius a few years back for access to the car pool lane for my 3 hour commutes in CA. They offered a big $$$ tax credit too. Did my taxes and didn't get a penny of the credit. Tax adviser said I hit the "AMT" limit. So just because there is the credit... you may not be eligible.
I would buy a Volt for a daily driver.

How about you rebuild your Camaro to electric powered model.
But I would do this after V8 has died. (So not anytime soon) |

You get what you pay for. We can debate whether or not EVs are worth the money all we want, but for people who want an EV now, Volt is the only logical answer.

As Bush Sr. says......it wouldn't be prudent to trade your CAMARO! We need a couple of years of knowledge about the cars. We are short on answers. There is a high purchasing cost...even with the tax savings! The operating speeds and cost of maintance make me uncomfortable.

I heard from a Chevy dealer that the Volt may only qualify for a $5000.00 Federal rebate. I went to look at one with my wife a few weeks ago (it was on tour). Sharp looking sedan.
