I meant that particular list posted here. For that much money it damn well should beat it!

The big deal about the CTS V is that it not only broke 8 minutes, It beat the new hot V8 M3 doing it....

That might not have even been a full production model according to leftlanenews....

http://www.leftlanenews.com/gm-camar...ng-in-819.html

"Though we can’t publish our driving impressions of the reborn Chevrolet Camaro SS until Friday at 6 pm Eastern - check back then! - we did learn today from General Motors that what the automaker calls an “80 percent” prototype of the neo-muscle car lapped Germany’s Nürburgring in a reasonable 8:19.

That figure puts it about three seconds ahead of the Cobalt SS (and, not surprisingly, way behind the Corvette ZR1) though that test is official and was done with a production vehicle. GM figures the production Camaro SS will easily shave a few seconds off of that time.

GM says it sent a prototype Camaro SS around the track last year when the automaker was doing development work on the Pontiac G8 GXP.

The automaker didn’t say who was behind the wheel during the unofficial attempt. "

That's a list of fine cars that it beats, for sure. To think that it's not far behind a 556 horse' 4100+ lb. car is pretty good. If there are a few seconds left in it makes it even better. Let's see some Mustang and Challenger times

it's 8 hours! the ring is actually a track from the western border (germany /netherlands) all the way to the eastern border (germany/poland) and back!

The Camaro should hang with the M3 with a little suspension work.

I wonder what the 4th gens would do on that track in best 1le trim. I'm trying to keep my '02 SS up-to-date performancewise. I think it'll probably hang or do better in the curves than the '10 now with what I've got and in the straights I guess we'll just have to find out.

I want to be that 4th gen guy who makes all the 5th gen guys have the mandatory need of mods to keep up

yeah... but i doubt he drove the 8:19. it was probably somebody like John Heinricy who's got thousands of laps under their belt & drive that track for a living

I just got the book "Camaro: A Legend Reborn" a few minutes ago. They believe that if they brought a 100% complete Camaro back to the 'ring, that they could get it below 8 minutes.

Sweet!
