six day test drive
Just reserved a SS at Avis in Florida for six days in Feb.
It was expensive ,but what better way to test drive a car before making the big commitment. Any advice Wayne |

Should have come to this site first, we could have talked you into it and you could have used the rent money for a down payment.

Unfortunately, you have to be 25+ to rent a it from Avis, so I all I could do is just walk around it for 50 minutes until the guy gave me the "f off" look on his face.

I'm thinking about renting one soon for the weekend too, but unfortunately, Avis said they didn't have an SS here.

advice? -- Rent the V6 first, maybe the first half of the week -- because you might find out that the V6 has plenty of power (like I did) ; but if you rent the V8 first you will never be happy with the V6 if they are charging more than $150/day, that is too much -- if you walk in to the counter without a reservation and they have the car available, they are very negotiable on the price . . . but if you reserve ahead, you are stuck with the price you reserved (but you also have a car for sure) if you are renting in Tampa, I noticed when I was there that they had plenty of LT Camaros available, plus Budget has them in the same airport -- so you have a real good chance of getting one without a reservation . . . SS is in shorter supply, I think they only have one or two (silver?) track actual gas mileage while you have it -- I was especially impressed by that with the V6 if you are in Tampa area -- there aren't too many places where you can have fun with it; you need to drive out into the country (but it sounds like you'll have plenty of time for that!) one last thing -- the car does not have the owners manual in it, but you can get it off the internet in PDF format |

[QUOTE=Bert;1383362]try a V6, you might be surprised . . . and it will get close to the mileage that your accord gets[/QUOT
I know the 304hp V6 is a awesome motor cause the salesman took me for a ride in his personal V6. If I hadn't known any different , I would have sworn it was a V8. I would just like the SS for bragging rights. We have to rent a car anyway while we are vacationing in Florida so this will be a good opportunity. I am 100% sure I will love it. We will see what the wife thinks; (Not that that will make any difference in this case) cause it will be my toy with only me driving. Plus I have already got her blessing on the convertible. |

Enjoy it. You can checkout what I thought about it during my 5 day rental in South Florida (in my poorly timed thread):
