So... what's the difference between SC and ST/TT ? Also who has the best kit out there for increasing the power and performance of the V6? I hear IPF,Gretchen,Rx, etc.. ? O_O Need some clarity!

Currently, the only superchargers available are centrifugal superchargers which make boost as rpms increase so you'd be making peak boost at higher rpms. Turbos make boost as soon as it spools up. The Superchargers available are the ones by RX and IPF. They pretty much all make the same amount of power. The difference between turbo and supercharger is that turbos will produce more torque than the supercharger solution we have right now. Since you own a 2011, it really won't matter what option you choose because they will all pretty much make the same amount of power since we have fueling issues. The turbos will produce more torque though. You'll be at about 400hp 400 tq with turbos and 400 hp 350 tq with a supercharger. Those are rough figures so don't flame me if I'm a little off. |

W/23, you're in the ballpark.

JohnnyB, in your opinion now that you have the IPF SC, would you consider suspension and clutch upgrades as necessary in addition to the SC, or merely nice additions if you have the extra money?

I'll replace the clutch after I smoke this one. Not sure how long this one will hold up.
My next move has to be suspension. With so much more power on tap, it makes sense to get things tightened up. I'm on board with the Pedders approach. Take care of basic underpinnings, bushings first, sway bars last, don't use a strut bar. My corner approach speeds have placed this next upgrade squarely in front of my attention. Brakes are fine for now, since I don't track the car I'm not bothered by possible brake fade, and I haven't seen it crop up yet. The stock brakes work nearly as good as the Brembos until they get hot. John B.

I would agree w/johnyb.....clutch is going to give up first.
Here are some pics from the latest RX SC build...AWD CTS Caddy 3.6L DI. The AWD is amazing....NO traction issues on launch. Amazing cars: Did our heads and stall converter as well as new timing chain set. |
