Worth Installing these Tweeters?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Quantum-Audi...item1e7598241e
what do you think? If I put my ear up to the stock tweeter I barely hear anything, they seem pretty pointless, question is, are these just as pointless? what ones are easy to install? |

Did you replace the 6.5" speaker in the door?
If you did does it have tweeters installed on the new ones? |

yeah, actually I did replace the door speakers and the new ones do have tweeters.
is it a PITA to fit some better tweeters in the stock location? if so I wont bother. |

^^^^ that and also since you replaced the component with a coaxial you would either have to piggy back wires up to those tweeters or run more wires for them.

Why? there's already wires there for the tweeters. why would more be needed? aren't they already piggy backed on the 6.5" door speakers? |

Adding another tweeter, or even trying to use the stock one is foolish because your coaxial already has the ability to reproduce those higher frequencies. What you could've done is instead of going with those 6.5" coaxials, you could've gotten a 6.5" component setup like the Kicker 40CSS654, and popped the new tweeters in the stock pod. As it stands with your equipment, keep the stock tweeter unhooked, don't worry about adding anything to the pods, and just enjoy your door coaxials. |

but I finally got it hooked up and it sounds great, no point even messing with separate tweeters, I always thought separate tweeters were so overrated. And I ordered a set of those ebay ones and they are total pieces of crap, $8 right down the drain. Last edited by CyberPunk223; 05-18-2013 at 10:36 PM. |

With a quality tweeter you would likely hear a difference. Mainly as high frequencies are directional, and having them up closer to ear level allows a cleaner signal.
In any case, if it sounds good, leave it be. Those speakers are still an upgrade over the stock speakers. |

An inexpensive coaxial speaker is most likely 4 ohm and the stock tweeter is most likely 4 ohm. If you wired them together it would present a 2 ohm load to whatever you are powering those speakers with. That power source may not be capable of handling a 2 ohm load.
No one is going to be impressed with an $8 set of tweeter from anywhere. You get what you pay for. A high end tweeter would have a hugely noticable difference with the proper power source and signal.
