I am lucky when I get 12 mpg on average. 80% city driving and not particularly aggressive.

I drive roughly 100 miles round trip a day for my work commute, but only 2 or 3 times a week.
I am on cruise control at 65 mph on average and get 24-26 mpg average.
However, all it takes is one "punch" on an empty on-ramp, and then that average drops to 21mpg.

What he's claiming is impossible.

If this were the case we'd all be super charging to "save money on gas". Some guys do actually maintain similiar to stock, but I don't believe he's double what I'm getting with a sc

I have been averaging about 15.7. In the highway I am low to mid 20s depending on speed.

Ok. When you reverse the commute what do you get? I bet one way is downhill.

And if you're really getting 20-23 in town you're really not driving the car much at all.
