I noticed it on my second oil change at 3700 miles, but I only put 90 miles on it before I put it away for winter. Will see if it s still there when things warm up.

It is crazy, my cousin who has bought GM all his life and owns a collection of Camaros said he won't buy another GM product due to the way they are handling this issue. He already backed out of his 2014 ZL1 purchase. He refuses to buy Ford or Dodge so unfortunately he's turning to imports.

Sorry I didn't see this before.

I never had any smell of the sort coming from my car. So I'd vote that it's not normal.

Good luck getting this resolved.

I ALAWAYS NOTICE the oil smell after a oil and filter change no matter where and who does it. This because the techs refuse to wipe off all the areas where the oil drips. It always goes away as soon as the dripped oil burns off. I hate this but I have given up asking for them to take more care

You always have the option of changing the oil yourself so you know it's being done correctly.

Also, I haven't had the oil smell some do yet, and I have a bit over 13,000 miles on mine.

I am hoping its that simple but wont know until it warms up enough to run it hot enough to make that assumption. If is excessive drip it would have to below where the filter is because there is no drips on top by the exhaust manifold.

It will go away just drive the car enough to experience it. I have my oil changed at the dealer and they do an excellent job! No smells, leaks and the car is detailed.

I stood over their shoulders and watched to make sure not a single drop of oil made it anywhere other than in the funnel. They also made sure nothing spilled around the oil filter and plug.

Drop - there is a TSB somewhere around here, that tells of the rear block plate may be porous and allow oil to seep past the seal. Obviously, if this happens on a hot block it vaporises and you smell it. That would also explain the evidence of oils coming out the bell housing. My SS did this so bad I gave up and traded it in for my ZL1. My Z did smell for about 2K and then stopped and hasn't returned and I have 7K on it now.

That's where I go. That is probably the best dealership in the Austin area (unfortunately).

Add me on to this , talking about the ( Normal ) big capital BULLSHIT

There was a thread by a forum member last year in which he had an oil leak that took forever to find. It ended up being a PCV rubber grommet that was "mis-punched" and excess crankcase pressure was blowing oil out the seals. I believe it was the same car that he totaled right before they(Chevy) were going to buy it back from him.
