Navigation install decreased Boston Acoustics performance

I just had an Advent navigation/media system installed. Before the install the performance of the audio system was awesome. Lots of bass and overall great sound. But when they installed the navigation system the bass is about half the level it was before. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can increase the bass performance without adding aftermarket subs?

I really only see 2 options for you. Either add an electronic crossover / EQ or replace the factory amp with an aftermarket amp.

The EQ or electronic crossover are really only band-aids / partial fixes though. They both have significant drawbacks in this application. The best solution would be amp replacement. Take a look at some quality 6 channel amps (Like JL Audio XD600/6 or MB Quart NAU 660). A 5 channel amp will do, but the 6 channel amps make it more simple.

Good luck!

Awesome, Thanks for the advice. But I'm happy with the performance of the speakers just not the bass response. Is say, a 2-channel amp just to power the 7-inch subs, an option that you would recommend?

I'm not sure what you mean by 7" subs (6x9's?), but I say go for it. I still recommend replacing the factory amp (it's really terrible), but if you want to try a 2 channel amp on just the 6x9 woofers, go for it. Just keep in mind when shopping for an amp that they can't handle a whole lot of power.
