Keep checking my original post, whereby I'm updating the weather conditions. It's pretty safe to say that Saturday is a washout, we'll have to see how things progress for Sunday.
As mentioned in the original post I will put out the FINAL weather report by Friday night, and then everyone can decide for themselves if they're IN or OUT. I hope things change for Sunday.

FYI,
I will do everything in my power to gain the strength to make it out to tomorrow's meet. I have been dealing with some back & muscular issues this week which has affected regular mobility. Nothing serious, that I can see, however, recovery is slow. I have been looking forward to this for the past two weeks. It's great to see the response we've had to this get together (GTG), especially with more members taking possession of their cars leading up to this event. I hope to see a pattern of regualr GTGs, on a specific day and location, convienent for everyone, in the future, even to just meet up for few hours. Cruises and special events will always take more planning ahead of time. please check original post for FINAL UPDATE

OK - Sorry for the late arrival. I was out driving around ensuring I have a good smattering of bug guts all over the front of the car.
I drove around square 1 today. I did not see the GM tents set-up anywhere yet. I guess this test drive event must be Sat & Sun only (thought some were Fri too). I didn't go to the last Sq1 test drive, so I don't know where they were set-up. I would have presumed the north east extreme corner of the mall property as that is the biggest (and least used) lot. However, presently that lot is tore up and there is mountains of gravel in there. So unless they are only bringing trucks.... Also, in the north west corner of the property (the next biggest and next least used lot) was the Friday farmer's market. So it wasn't there. I am going to assume/guess, that the GM test drive will be in that North West lot (where the farmer's market was today) and that they will be setting up tonight/Saturday morning. Directions: For anyone who isn't familiar with the mall, Square one does have streets that circle it. But not a traditional mall "ring road". So here's directions to where I "think" the test drive will be. If you're coming along the 403, exit at Hurontario St (Hwy 10) and proceed south. Immediately south of the 403 overpass there is a ramp off Hurontario to the west. That is Rathburn. Take that ramp. Proceed straight through at the first lights. Look to your left - that's square one. Travel across the top of the mall (through about 4 sets of lights) to get to the north-west corner (directly across the road from Jack Astors). Turn left on Duke of York and left again to enter the parking lot. If I'm wrong (happens a lot) and that is not the location of the GM tents, just stay on Duke of York and turn left again on City Centre Dr. This way you will completely circle the mall and should be able to find it. Don't blame me if it's not in that lot, don't blame me if you get lost. See you there Saturday at 10:00am

I just want to say Thank You to everyone who attended todays meet, and as mentioned before, those who weren't able to, you were missed.
It was nice meeting everyone, and seeing the great turnout of cars, even if most were orange, sorry Hylton . I think we had a great representation of Southerern Ontario, along with Eastern Ontario, and even our neighbour to the south in Michigan. I, as always, fielded some questions from people about the Camaro, after they came over from test driving it, I guess they thought we were part of the test organizers. Here are some pics of todays gathering, I hope I didn't miss anyones car, if I did I'm sorry. I would like to specifically thank Ron (Kenny"s friend) for bringing out his gorgeous '69, and Sean (Mike's son) who brought out his '84. As always keep the rubber side down.

Looks like everyone had a great time and the weather held out. I saw the update that it was today not Sunday with our crazy weather, and planned to attend. Woke up today and have my dad visiting from Ohio, no parking in the condo last night so we parked across the street on Front & Blue Jay Way and had his windows broken with a rock :-( People suck! So we spent this morning trying to get that replaced so he could drive back to Ohio...Ughh!
But I think I had a Hylton spotting in the city! First Camaro other than ours I have seen downtown! |
