You should not accept the car back. In the past intermittent electrical continuity problems have caused this. One member had a bad fuse panel.

Yea, I wouldn't accept it back. Sounds like it's something of a dangerous situation, whether or not you can find a safe place to try it.

so my car stalled on me again while backing out of the garage this week. No codes from diagnostics run by OnStar or the dealer.

GM told them to:
change the oil
put in a fuel additive
and for ME to use premium top tier gas for the next month.
and they have released the car back to me.

i'm not a mechanic but i don't think these items is going to fix my problem.

i am concerned for the safety of myself, my family, and other drivers since I don't know when the car is going to stall on me.

i am going to start the process of having my car declared a lemon. anyone have any suggestions on how i should approach this? thanks for any input!

Sorry to hear about your trouble.
First read up on your state's Lemon Law and get familiar with all the ins and outs. Call GM and start a case with them, if they decide not to buy the vehicle back or give you a replacement you can go to bbb.com to start a lemon law buyback. It may go to arbitration, but no matter what keep ALL documents of your visits to the dealer with the write-up about it stalling, and if possible record it stalling if you can with a camera phone or video camera. Complete documentation is key here so keep a log.

In California they have one chance to fix a stall issue, three strikes for most other issues, and 30 days within the first 12 months of shop time max before its a lemon.

Oh and for your own safety don't make any last minute unsafe left turns and avoid crossing train tracks.

Good Luck and be safe!

using top tier gas may help it is a better cleaning fuel. There are a few TSB's on this causing problems with the injector. You need to find a service station that has it. It will state it on the pump. Good Luck

I had a Chevy s-10 do the same thing. The service manager drove it a week and it finally did it to him. They could not figure it out. I filed. Lemon law on it and lost. They told me I lost because when they drove it it didn't repeat the problem. When I did my lemon law they sent a third party to drive the truck and they reported nothing wrong. Good luck.

Tell your dealer to do a reboot or totally just reload the operating system. If that doesnt work have him upgrade it to Windows 7 with GM Service Pack..
