speedy prep towel grade?

I tried using the speedy prep towel on the left side of my bumper a couple months back. Used all of the suggested steps, and I got these weird murky spots over the area I used the towel.

I'm now thinking that it may have been because I had leftover wax on the car. I have the medium grade towel, think I should be using the fine grade for my RJT?

I plan on washing it with dawn next weekend, and trying the towel again.

Definitely use the fine. The medium is too much imo

Medium was way to much. Fine grade will do just fine.

did you break the towel in?

I have done two camaros (not mine) that needed the medium instead of the fine. The nice thing was that there was no marring using the medium on the hard Camaro paint.

I broke it in on my windshield...don't know if that was good or bad. I think I may purchase the fine just so I have both to play with.

It's just enough to get the protective shipping coating removed.

The fine will be better reducing chances of marring. Just keep the lubricity up.
