I'm pretty sure that Corvette is the only car you can pick up yourself. I live within driving distance of where my Camaros were built, and the dealer said they don't allow people to pick them up themselves, even if you live next door.

This could all be dealer B.S., so if anyone can confirm/deny this. It makes sense to me because they probably want that "destination charge" for all sales regardless of where you live.

I would pay for the photo options, and I would also travel to the plant and pick it up myself. I have asked about this to a few people but have no response yet? It is probably too far fetched. Oh well, as long as I get my CAMARO soon I will be happy. Come on GM let's get the early orders going. ME FIRST.

So what do you think is a fair price for something like that? Of course everyone would like it, but how much do you think the average person would be will to pay for it? I could see $200-300. I don't see the average person wanting to pay 500 bucks to be able to pick it up, not to mention the other costs involved in getting there to begin with.

Of course.....personally i'd pay $500 cause I like to treat money like water, and that would be a once (or maybe twice) in a lifetime kinda thing to be able to do.

Since I dont think there are many people with a sexual fetish for cars being built (if you do, please seek , its not normal -not at all!), then I imagine things will be alright. And since nobody would want to introduce a censorship precedent, that increases the odds that photos of this sort of thing are allowable.

i would pay $500 just for some high quality photos. GM wouldn't even have to print them if they had digital delivery. give me an account# with pin code, go to a website and download the photos. I would go and have them blown up and make posters I could frame and hang around the garage.

Not for $500. For $500, I better get video, stills from beginning to end, a three part pictures series of the that car in bare metal on the line like the other shots we saw, one of it getting it's motor, and the last of the final product. Then, I want all the goodies to come with it....a build sheet of all it's codes in a leather type binder deal. Let's see....a full sized framed picture to go along w/ the triple framed picture....

I'd take that with a pick up at the plant. . .lol. or hell is there a camaro museum? if so they should ship it there and I can pick it up there for that price tag. . .or a couple hundred more.

Thats the kind of package I'd be interested in. I'd like it to be an option for people that order their cars, I bet even some dealers would order the package to entice a buyer on the lot.

I'd definitely pay a few bucks for the pure pleasure of picking my baby up directly from the factory. Heck, BMW has a European delivery package where you can not only pick any BMW they make in Germany directly up from the factory in Bavaria, but they will help arrange a full vacation with hotel and flight arrangements. You go to Germany, pick the car up, drive it while you're in Europe, and when your vaction is over you bring it back to the factory and they make all the arrangements to ship the car directly to the dealer in the States that you bought it from.

I'd pay full destination charges to where I live, shoot. I'd like to be there from the beginning of assembly to end though.
