Question about axles

I have an L99 which has had some work done including ls3 conversion tvs2300 cam etc etc, I've got almost 530 to the wheels at 8psi going to go 10psi soon.
My question is at 500 plus to the wheels and drag radials like NT05Rs at what point do I Need axles

It wouldnt hurt but you'll probably be ok unless you drag race every weekend.

As long as your not launching at 6000 rpm, you might be ok. I have 628rwhp, so I went ahead and changed mine out. When it comes to racing, its always better safe then sorry. Plus they are simple to install and a good piece of mind knowing you have then. You break an axle, your gonna f*ck a lot of Sh*t up. I went with Hendericks Axles. Stong as on ox!!

The problem with the stock axles is the material its made from, if you think of a hanger when you bend it over and over all the sudden it will break. the higher grade materials will take the torsional load and had multiple fatigue cycles built in so it will not "self destruct" the question is not really will it break, it will. the real question in when and where, thats where the peace of mind will come in.

if you look at the install mercuryman did his outer spline was twisted and he dident even know about it.
here is the link to his post about it

Yep, stock axles won't hold up to much power. BMR broke an axle with not much power over stock. They stepped up to our 1000+hp axles and have never had a problem since.

Give us or one of our dealers a call if we can help you out.

Thanks
Chris

You needed them along time ago lol. It is better to get them. More damage can be caused like with most things if you wait until they break. I have to save some $$$ and I will have them!
