I was thinking the same thing....

The Richmond Gears are as good or better than the factory gears but the ratio does put more force on the case which lead to our upgrades.

Anything you can expect out of the factory gears you can expect out of the Richmond gears and then some.

Ted.

I just got off the phone with Richmond Gear and was told they would not be exchanging gears for anyone with NIB ones. I was told to send them back to the vendor, get a refund and re-order the new ones. I asked what would happen if someone installed the older ones and broke them during warranty period. I was told they would be replaced with the same gears.

Just FYI...

At some point all gears will fail. No gear has unlimited life. This car/differential was never designed for the drag strip. Part of racing is finding the weak link. That is why top fuel drag racers now use 12 inch rear ends when just a few short years ago they were running 9.5 inch gears.

Then why did they give us the comp mode, have a video for there people showing them how to use it. Yes right I'm going to change out and spend over $1000 to have then just to use on the street.

Ted, I looked up the Red-Line 80-140, it said it already has a posi additive, do we need to put more in the rear end?

Thanks!!

If you do not have JRE posi mod then that is fine.

If you do have JRE Posi mod an extra bottle is recommended.

Ted.

What a classless moron you are acting like! If you want to act like a child you could at least be upset with the right people. You are an embarrassment to the Camaro community! Richmond has a great rep and has been providing quality gears long before C5 came around...they are probably thinking that the C5 guys are a bunch of divas!!! GM clearly did not engineer this car to handle more power that it came with...the engine does not have forged components, the suspension doesn't handle increased power well, fuel delivery is limited, the driveline and clutch are weak and as stated here the differential has issues. Sell your car and buy a ZL1 or shut up and get used to upgrading all the weak parts on this version. I love my Camaro but I see it for what it is.

4.10s are the single best modification I did to my car . You don't need a dyno or a stopwatch to measure the difference in performance , You know it the first time you let the clutch out .

Agreed .
If you have something constructive to add , great . If you're on here just to bust a sponsor's balls , get off here and go beat your wife or whatever it is you normally do .

Are 4.11 gears listed on the Richmond website with the part number, etc? I don't see them listed. I only see the 4.10 and other gears.

Does anyone have rough dimensions for the stock differential bearing caps that they would like to share with me? I would like to make some out of steel. I can look up the bearing bore tolerance myself. I would like to make them before taking mine apart, etc.
