18" wheel on LT?

So my basic question is this: if I stick 18" rims on my LT will I screw up my speedometer if I go from a 245/55 to a 245/50? I'm pretty sure that my going up/down in tire height will result in the speedometer reading incorrectly if you don't modify the rim size....? True or False....Thanks in advance!

We are actually doing this in a few weeks when the car gets here. Putting the LS rims and tires on a 2 LT RS. dealer said they will swap and adjust so that everything reads correctly.

They don't need to do anything.......... STOCK wheels/TIRES on the 2LT are meant to match the 18's on the LS and LT.
