Lowering springs
Getting ready to lower my 2012 convertible. I know the rear is heavier, so rear will be a little more than 1", anyone have suggestions or opinions on who has the best springs? BMR? Hotchkis? Others?
Any help is appreciated. |

What do you use your car for? Drag, track, Auto X, daily driver, combination?

Daily driver, lowering for aesthetics Mainly, but do want better handling. Just don't want a crappy ride for a 1 inch drop.

I just ordered the Apex/Pfadt 1.25" springs. As as soon as I get them in, bushings timed and an alignment I'll let you know!

I wouldn't go more than 1.0" drop. As you mentioned, with the extra weight of the convertible, it could end up dropping it more than you really wanted with a 1.25" or 1.4" spring. I would expect somewhere around 1-1/8, maybe 1-3/16 at most with a 1.0" spring. Should look pretty hot!!!

I have the Hotchkis 1" springs and the ride was good with the factory tires and no other mods. Now I have full suspension mods and 285-35-20's PSS's all around and it is a little rough on uneven surfaces, but, smooth on good roads. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the manufactures that you mentioned. I would call Tyler at JDP Motorsports to help you out.
1" drop with 275-40-20's all around shown. |
