That is what I experience in Sport Mode as well. It was a little scary the first time until I realized it did this to keep it into the RPM band so that power is there if you want it.

It is strange to get used to, but it is like that to keep the tranny from upshifting immediately after you let off the gas, giving you a sportier feel.

Also, if you pay attention, just coast down from 40mph or so and you should feel it downshifting. I think it is pretty sweet!
Yeah, sounds normal with these new auto trannys. If you are on an autocross, this comes in handy because if you are hauling ass up to a turn, it won't immediately upshift when you let off the gas coming into a turn. You are then free to floor it in that lower gear exiting the corner and you don't have to worry about it downshifting again.

Are you just trying to boost post count, or are you intentionally necroing threads?

It's happened to me several times too. Same set of circumstances as you described. It freaked me out and I thought my car was going to explode or something. I guess it's normal but it is a bit weird if you haven't felt it before.

He is obviously an idiot because the auto is also a 6 SPEED! Everyone has a 6 SPEED!

Now to comment on the topic, I played around with an A6 Corvette, 2009, before buying my 2010 Camaro to see if I would like the tap-shift (I didn't) and it does hold the gear like everyone is saying in "S". I am betting you don't have anthing wrong but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

OH and you should have got a 6 SPEED.

Normal. My car does it. If you really freak out over it just hit the right tapshift and have it take it up a gear and your RPM's will drop right away since you are now in M and not S mode.

When I'm in sport mode (most of the time) I've had similar things happen.
Once I was getting off the freeway and did some heavy breaking. The tranny started to down shift kicking the revs up pretty high. I know Sport mode definitely acts a bit differently, shifts at higher RPM's. The one thing I do notice is that it's not consistent.

Yeah, that happens to me, usually after I drive aggresively.
If I dont like it, I just push it into Drive, and walla, back to how a granny shifts!

Same thing happen to me in Sport mode .... I have noticed that it does this in relation to more aggresive driving such as heavy breaking or harder turning (switching lanes quickly, taking a sharp turn, taking on/off ramps really fast) that sort of thing.. still uncomfortable with it so I bump it back to D and that fixes it.
