Yessir. Main reason I wanted to catch it on video, so I can hear it and not just everybody else.

Sad news though, as with every car I've owned my Camaro is no exception to some unknown [expletive] person deciding (accidentally or otherwise) to cause harm to my vehicle.

So yeah, this happened some time between last night and after I got off work today. My best guess is last night as someone was parked in my spot when I got home and I parked directly opposite my spot in an otherwise available, non-marked (visitor) spot. Some couple hours later I heard the spot thief back out and leave and I thought I heard a bump. When I went to look (in the dark, with my puny little led keychain flashlight) I couldn't see anything but I saw this clear as day when I left work today.

Would you guys file an insurance claim on this and get it re-painted or try to fix it yourself? I'd be willing to entertain the possibility of adding a body kit at some point but I'm not sure what kits would fully cover that area and the expense is not something I'm willing to plunk down right now.

Thoughts? So mad right now.... Grrrr.

Thanks guys. I just hate these little ouchies. Not bad enough to bother using a $500 deductible, but bad enough it's still going to cost a few hundred to properly repair it. Then the ultimate decision on is it bad enough or could I live with just covering it up?

Ugh. There's better things to worry about than this though. Life goes on...

If you file it with your insurance won't your insurance increase in price? I would take it to a shop and see what they quote you. Remember that here in town Brian (rangerchevy) works at the legacy toyota and he might be able to help because they have to collision center there.
Sorry that happened to you

Any claim stands a chance of increasing your rates and the damage here likely wouldn't be enough to even clear the deductible so it wouldn't be worth it.

Milissa gave me Brian's # and he also called me. I'll stop by today or tomorrow for them to have a look but I'm betting it may end up just being a buff and forget kind of deal here. Especially if I'm serious about getting a body kit at some point, though my bank and credit card are telling me that'll be a while.

The damage isn't terrible and with bug damage, rock chips, and road rash, a daily driver won't be perfect for long so I've mellowed out about it since Tuesday.

There's less than $500 in damage there so even filing a claim for repair at this point would prolly not be worth it. And that's if you have $500 deductibles.

I'd follow the advice of the fellas here and ask around. Between RangerChevy, Nick (NAZZ) and the dozens of other good folks here, somebody is bound to know somebody that can get ya fixed up righteous.

Honestly it doesn't look all that bad from here. No cracks in the panel and that's great. Most of it looks like paint work.

Good luck and keep us posted man.

Yes, it is the stock bottom end, but I don't beat on it much, it'd cost me my job. So I take it pretty easy on the skreet and with no track.... No fancy times.
