JL sounds nice but for the money you can get a lot better stuff than JL prices.
Look up Digital Desings, Zapco or RE Audio which are far better quality than JL and should be around the same prices.

We'll I've gone with JL. I've managed to get everything at about half off. 10W3V3 Subwoofer, JL Slash 500/1 V2, JL Cleansweep signal processor and a stealbox for the driver side. All together $675... I love Ebay. Kicker and Rockford just didn't impress me and I know what I'm getting when I buy JL. I just hope a single 10" Woofer will do the trick. I imagine it will since its a strong woofer with good power behind it. Thanks for the imput everyone.

So what?
Hey Mickey,
Looks like you were stuck on the JL audio from the beginning. Why did you bother to ask? From what I hear at the sound shops JL is fading and is not all its blown up to be...still, anything is better than the factory cardboard speaker setup. Rock on! Wow, not impressed with Rockford...really??? Maybe to many concussions to the ears...live fire, explosions??? IDK.... |

Yes, the orginal plan was JL as I've had JL products before and was never dissapointed. I did look very hard into the suggested products and like I said, I found JL to be the better product. Thats my opinion though, and everyone is entitled to there own. If not, why the hell am I in Afghanistan then? The orginal question was not so much as what products to buy, but questioning if a single 10" sub would get the job done. I've only got one more item to buy now and thats the passenger side amp mount. I was going to mount the amp on the sub box next to the sub, but I now question if it will fit and if its a good idea. I should be home in about 5 weeks and as soon as I get everything installed and running I'll be sure to take pics and report how it turns out.

I have a JL Audio W7 12 inch with a 2000 watt (rms) Planet Audio amp and theres still room in the trunk and you can feel the bass blocks away. It is pretty amazing would definitely recommend if you don't mind spending over $1000

My amp is mounted in the trunk on the back of the back seat.

I thought about putting the amp on the seat back but I do tend to put them down for the added stowage space so I don't think I'll do that.
