I don't see an issue with it , its your car. But from a seller/buyer standpoint its false advertisement. Also if you look like a ZL1 but its just a v6 and a ZL1 or SS pulls up along side you might get a smack down. I think it would be alot cooler to have SS badges on it with all the mods. It shows you actually worked on it to make it that way than to just buy it from dealer. Shows more heart.

I have the zl1 front end, but kept my top SS grille. I'm proud to have an SS, but the Zl1 front end was more aesthetically appealing to me than other options for the SS (front lip kit, etc). Now in my opinion, you are posing if you claim it to be a ZL1, as that's not the case. But as others have mentioned, their SS has zl1 parts and can outrun the Zl1 if needed. That's where the money is.

As already said, as long as you don't have any ZL1 badges and you don't misrepresent it in any other way, ie: telling people it is a ZL1, you are good to go.

I look at this like being yourself everyday.....

until someone else pays your car note, insurance, and etc.... then they should have no say in how you dress you car up or down.

like you should be daily, be you, wear what you want... and to hell with what anyone else thinks...

if you really wanna get crazy with it and give a middle finger to anyone that has a problem with it... rebadge and rename your car to something that's personal and fits you.

When asked, I won't tell anyone where I got it from. I'm glad they're not making any more.
In Cali they still make a bunch of zl1 front bumper with the mail slot . Check out craiglist Los Angeles

so can I call mine a ZLT since it is a 1LT with a ZL1 front end and hood? Or maybe a1LZ, don't want to be a poser, the poser police might hunt me down and swipe my badges. On the other hand who needs no stinking badges.

Make it your own. Call it whatever you want. ZLT (sounds like a BLT though- maybe because it's close to lunchtime) or 1LZ, it's yours...just as long as you don't call it a ZL1, you're good.
