Talking Road Rashed Gills vs. Dr ColorChip - Before and After (wow!)

I live on a dirt road. Two miles of gravel and dirt to my house. So my poor IBM Camaro suffers for it. I'd used Dr. ColorChip on some rock chips on the front before but always big ones, and I had qualms about using it on my gills; I thought it was too big an area and the scratches and chips too tiny for it to be effective.

I talked to my paint and body guy about repainting the gills and the rocker panels after I move off the road and the cost was going to be over $2k which made me sick so I decided to give the Dr. ColorChip a try, thinking it wouldn't make much difference.

Holy crap was I wrong! Here's a before shot.

One more after. There's a bit of reflection from my asphalt driveway but its amazing the difference. Now I don't cringe when I look at it!

Much better Oklahoma back roads can be tough. You should see what the sand will do around here, windshields get little pits in the glass from it coming off the roads.

Yep Dr ColorChip is awesome stuff! Now you just need quarter flairs to help prevent it from happening again

Night and day difference! I just smeared it with an old credit card all over the area.

I almost got the quarter flares but I just don't like the look on IBM (the price is a little crazy too!) Had RPI stealth splash guards for a while but they eventually cracked and broke off.

Ugly chips can only be seen close up... ugly quarter flares can be seen from 100 feet away.

Is there any prep needed before applying? Or just put it on?

I just cleaned the area with glass cleaner to strip it, then smeared on the dr. Color chip. Basically no prep.

i got a new 13 black vert. i had dealer throw in the flares free and put them on. i like the look, and will protect the sides. plus i spent $475 for clear bra on front bumper and mirrors.
