IBM nose color question - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I was just wondering if anyone who has a IBM color camaro noticed a color change between the hood and fenders and the color of the front nose. The reason I am asking is on several IOM colors that I have seen, the front end, because of the metallic, has not matched the hood and fenders and was wanting to know if that was a problem with the color IBM.

With any metallic paint you will see color variations from different angles. If this bugs you, I probably shouldn't order IOM, IBM or RJT. The two IOM that I saw in person were wild. If you stand by the door and look right, the car is orange, look left and it's red....I like IT!

Speaking as an IBM owner... I am very pleased with the color consistency across the entire car. Check the "Make Ready" link in my signature for some pictures, to help you get an idea (even if I didn't know the guy who painted my car, I'd still think they did a great job).

I agree with Number_9. I was really worried about this and spent some time looking at my car for the color match in different lighting conditions and I don't see any inconsistancy.

I haven't noticed anything yet. I just picked mine up today so I haven't seen all possible lighting combinations.

My IBM is just fine also.

About the only difference I can see is the metallic flake in the paint on the plastic molded portions (bumper etc.) is a slightly smaller size than that in the paint on the sheet metal sections. The color matches well, however, and the purple hue the paint takes on in certain lighting situations is beautiful.

as another owner of a IBM Camaro i've seen what your talking about but its because of the nose being plastic i think but it doesnt look bad u almost never notice except in the right light

I have had my car for 3 weeks and yes the front bumper is slightly different from the body color of the car but as was mentioned from other members this is due to the bumper being made of plastic and the metallic paint is going to show differently than on the rest of the car. The IBM looks great and this is not an issue for me at all.
