2012 2SS L99 Shifting Issue

Guys -

This may be normal for 2012 but I just want to confirm because it bothers me ALOT!

When I am using the paddle shifters I notice that the car will skip shift from 1st to 3rd.

Is this normal? I read some threads but seem more specific to 2010.

Thanks for your help.

The whole purpose of the paddles, is to allow you to shift through gears as you please within the limits of factory programing.
You'll get a message stating "Shift Denied" if you try to shift to a gear that could cause damage.

Going from 1st to 2nd would not be denied and you should be able to do that any time you want.

So, no it is not normal to skip from 1st to 3rd.

I have checked your owner's manual and it is not showing to be normal. What you may want to do is get it diagnosed by your dealership. Also if this is an issue that they diagnose, then you may have applicable warranties available depending on the age and mileage of your vehicle. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Because It starts out in 2nd gear so your next gear is 3rd.

yeah I bet he is actually in 2nd, you have to manually shift the car to 1st when coming a complete stop or it'll actually be in 2nd gear

Maybe you tap the shift button twice.
