I was SO nervous the first time I used Launch Control on my car. It's so anti-intuitive to push in the clutch, then PIN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL! I haven't read anything about our cars having the "no lift" shift feature, but if so, cool!

Well my tuner added launch control on my car. Before if you pushed in the clutch it would rev to redline. Now it sits nicely at 3500rpm. Our local drag strip opens this weekend so I'm going to try and beat my 12.9sec 113mph time. Before I had no launch control nor did I have stickies on the back. These nitto 305s should hook.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't No-Lift Shifting only on the ZL1? Isn't the point of it to build/avoid losing boost while shifting? What advantages would us N/A V8's get from no lift shifting?

I added no lift shifting to my tune.
I think we're talking about two different subjects here. Launch control and no lift shifting. |

I have the launch control on my 2010 2SS but don't have the dry option. It just goes into launch control and holds the revs at about 4500. Don't know about the no lift shifting as I have never tracked the car. Cool feature though.

Non-ZL1 SS Camaros have Launch Control, but do not have the No-Lift Shift feature. It can easily be done, but if you could have a money shift if not careful.

My understanding is it maintains boost between shifts.
Automatics need not apply...not a concern there. For everyone else who doesn't have turbos or a supercharger, it's called good 'ole power shifting, and you don't need a feature programmed into the car to do it. Launch control is a separate feature, although the two features might activate together. Launch control manages the application of maximum power from a complete stop to minimize wheel spin. You also don't need this to launch a car appropriately, but it's a great feature to prevent noobs from completely destroying a perfectly good clutch. |
