That's getting close to what I spent on my whole build. I have a fairly bullet-proof ride from front to back. I almost went that route, but it was just too much for me to pull the trigger. I didn't have that many miles on my stock engine either.
I'll see if I can find my build sheet when I get to work. Very highly recommend it if you got $40k to spend. I haven't went this route yet, but it would be fairly easy to change pulley sizes and get considerable more power. Not sure LPE would give the same 3yr/36k warranty though. Call Tim at LPE. Tell him you're looking at getting a build like mine and get him to send you a quote. I did get free car pickup; think the promo was for a distance < 600 miles. I flew out to pick the car up when it was done. They'll pick you up at the airport. Shop tour was awesome too. Do a ravensjeff search on youtube; my dyno run at LPE is on there.

Lingenfelter has been in the game for a long time and they have a stellar reputation and build some of the best cars out there. I would never go to hennessey they seem ungodly over priced and have had a lot of issues with, let's say, questionable practices.

I judge vendors by what they say on this and other forums. If they are always trying to push the most expensive parts in every situation, I stay away. Cars are systems and parts generally need to be upgraded in groups based on the desired power level. There are always better parts unless your paying for the uber expensive racing pieces and then kits and packages aren't really what your talking about. HP is worthless if you are just smoking the tires or breaking other parts.
As said Lingenfelter has had a stellar reputation, specifically with Chevrolets, for a long time. I've bought some of their parts, dealt with their tech support, and have only good things to say. I've never dealt with Hennessey.

LG, 21st Century Muscle Cars or ADM over the previous suggestions. All three are in the Dallas area.

Thanks for all the feedback Guys. I toyed around with the idea of buying a new car....but for the 50 K ill end up spending (LPE 775 package, axle, brakes, rims, stall converter, and some visuals) i cant find anything that comes close to this performance level.... plus this is my dream car and would love to see her in her ultimate glory... im just now having the means to get her there...

I believe the LPE portion was somewhere in the 35-40k range (Nov 2010 $$). The suspension and tire/rim updates also drastically changed the ride for the better in handling and sticking to the road. Lowered suspension does come with a "stiffer ride" though; but well worth it. You could save about $1,000 by not getting SC in chrome (Being a Harley owner made the chrome choice easy!!).
I also never had a radar detector/Laser jammer in any vehicle I've owned. Came in quite handy on the 600 mile ride home from the shop (and still does); again, well worth it and highly recommended. Headers were not installed, nor suggested either. I never got the feeling they were trying to sell me something I didn't need.
