1SS Clarification

For those trim levels not receiving the modified ABL (namely the 1SS), do we know what will be used on the dash/doors instead? I've sat in some that have cloth there and some that have a colored acrylic and am curious as to which will be the final solution (or if that has even been stated yet).

With the new ABL, I'd be perfectly happy downgrading to a 1SS so long as there won't be easily-stained cloth on the doors and dash.

it seems to be cloth seats / cloth inserts, leather/ acrylic as of now. supposedly all these other cars were not "final"

If it helps, my Cobalt has cloth on the door panels and it has been held up very well and still looks brand new. Then again, I'm more meticulous with keeping my interior clean and dirty stuff out than most people, so I may not be the best reference for its stain resistance. I wouldn't mind some nice leather or at least vinyl trim on the doors and dash of the LT and SS models.

Cloth but im sure its very durable. Im sure you will be able to swap the acrylics in if you want though.

last word is that ABL cars (2LT & 2SS) have the acrylic panels. all others (LS, 1LT, 1SS) have cloth. i doubt it would be hard to get the panels from GMPP and install them afterwards.

Sweet, thanks everyone.

Hopefully the acrylic panels won't be too expensive/hard to install.

Now I just have to decided if I'd rather do that and go with a 1SS or go with the 2SS and get some features I'd like and some I don't care about/don't want (ie leather heated seats when I'll be living in FL).

I'm right there with you. It mainly depends on the economy and how long I can stand saving up before buying.

Actually arent the interior accent trim pieces that are GMPP options Acrylic so technically if you like any of the four colors offered you can get the panels in your car on delivery

Price out all of the options/combinations for the stuff you want, and go from there. For me, I wanted the leather seats (don't care about heated though), acrylic panels, and C&C package... so obvious choice for me was 2SS. But if you want cloth seats, and acrylic panels... add everything up. I'm sure it'll be more worth it to go with the 2SS. If you really dislike the ambient lighting that much, I think someone said there is a slider/dimmer for it. And I would assume the heated seats have the same.

I don't mind the ABL, it just isn't as attractive an option now as it was before. The leather would be nice (I have leather in my Stang) but I'm moving to FL and would rather not burn myself constantly. Plus the heated feature is then also irrelevant.

I'd love to have C&C, but it isn't a deal breaker for me. If that were an option I'd just add it to the 1SS, but since it isn't I can probably live with it.

Basically I want cloth seats, acrylic door/dash panels, and Boston Acoustics. I'd like C&C and the auto-dimming mirrors, but those I don't have to have.

Im going 1SS because I don't want the leather (and a$$ warmer) but I'll bee looking into changing the door/dash cloth trim pieces out with some acrylic..

ABL is worthless to me, don't need it.

1SS + aux gauges and maybe acrylic panels or custom ABL install (when they work out the whole system)

that's my rig

this might not be right but the acrylick sp? panels are part of the "interior accent addition" the cloth inserts are part of the two tone interior. I know this because i am ordering the interior accent interior $500 and it comes w/ the hard shell door panels... Although i have realized like u said the two tone interiors have inserts so i might just save the $500 and roll w/ the cloth...
