So I was thinking...

What exactly is this "meet" going to consist of? I mean, if we aren't going to "impact production" then how will we be meeting everyone? It seems like we all wouldn't drive out there just for a 1-hour luncheon during their break... Or would we...? Or is this gonna be held on an off-day?

Yeah, we are crazy enough to drive out there for a one hour luncheon. We cannot stop production from occurring, nor should we expect them to do so for our benefit. Since the shift ends just before 2:30, we will hold the event after the Friday shift so that workers can drop by on their way home.

Secondly, we are planning a Camaro5 dinner afterwords followed by "beer taste testing" back at the hotel.

On Saturday, we will be heading out to the Canadian Automotive Museum to look at various models built in Canada as well as learn about the contibutions provided by the Oshawa plant in the growth of General Motors.

Hylton, can you give us a rough idea on how much you think all of this will cost, and a general idea on how much you've raised so far? I haven't sent my contribution in yet and knowing how much you still need might help others like me that have been procrastinating

If you can't share that information that's cool too!

Hi Abygale,

I have budgeted the cost to be roughly 5-6K. So far, I have raised roughly $1,600 and am pretty confident we can reach my goal based on previous discussions with members. 2 members have generously donated $500.00 each and 2 more committed for another $900.00.

Another member has also generously donated an engraved plaque which will be presented to the assembly plant workers on behalf of Camaro5.

A few cocktails with the Camaro owners would be very relaxing after the Saturday day shift

Ok I admit, I have neglected this site So I just read this whole thread. I will head to SOS tomorrow to see about getting the EDL. IF I get it in time, which I think I will, than I am in!! Like we need another IOM to attend...LOL BUT, my friend just had his Summit White delivered and has done some mods to it already, I am trying to get him to tag along!

I will pm some of you Michiganders for the caravan line up as the date gets closer.

Hylton - I am sure I can come up with a donation also!

Cool

The more the better (IOM or not)

With regards to the caravan... we need a meeting place for those coming up from the southeast and east to meet up with those coming from the midwest. The farthest point from Oshawa that makes sense is the best- the caravan will have a longer ride together that way.

I had suggested earlier that those coming from my direction meet at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls,NY and that then we all cross the Rainbow Bridge together and meet up with the other half of the caravan in maybe Hamilton if they take the 403 off the 401 near Woodstock. Anybody got a better idea?
