Watching my Camaro get built ?
My dad is retired from GM. He worked at the Tarrytown Plant here in NY for 26 years and was a materials manager. I remember when i was younger getting to go to work with him a couple times for special events or whatever and it was awesome. I also remember one time going down with him and one of our neighbors who purchased one of the minivans they built there at the time and he actually got to see HIS car get built along the assembly line. How cool is that?
So now i think its MY TURN. so i asked him the other day and he said he knows the former plant manager but he isn't there anymore but he'd see what he could find out. It's only an 8 hour drive. Wonder if i can just pick it up when im there :-D that would be sweet!

Hate to be a downer, but don't count on it. It's been stated a number of times that there are restrictions (legal issues) of doing this since the plant is in Canada and not the U.S.

That would be cool. I would pay $500 to see my car being built... and I would take lots of pictures. I guess they would not probably not allow me to take pics. They would probably not make any money on it because they would have to hire someone to schedule the people coming in and take us thru the plant. I am sure these manufacturing plants can also be dangerous.

BMW actually places a transponder on the car so you can track where it is in production. Keepin up with the times.

Corvette Museum Delivery would be nice.
I watched my 82 S-10 Pickup and my 87 Grand National get built in Pontiac years ago so I know it is pretty cool to watch your car get asembled. But tougher to get in the plant these days. I think Bowling Green may be the only plant with "official" tours. And taking delivery? That would take some doing to get that to happen.
