Has anyone else who ordered a ZL1 with the carbon fiber insert been told from there dealer that this particular piece is on "constraint" and keeping the vehicle from being produced?

Yes. It's been on constraint for a while now.

Thanks! I was beginning to get a little frustrated because I live in NM and ordered in MI. I was beginning to think they let someone in under me! The order number they gave me doesn't come up on the Chevy.com website to track it! It keeps telling me some or all the info is wrong! Just curious I guess! Thanks for the info!

The story I got was:

Initially the Exposed Weave Inserts were problematic and under ordered based on demand, causing constraint. The constraint lasted about 3 weeks before we heard anything. At this time, some tried to change their orders to void the Exposed and get the Stock Satin weave.

THEN, the Clouds parted, and the Gods spoke.....

The Exposed Weave Inserts were now in full availability and would have little supply issues with them for the duration of the model year run (HINT: They got the quality problem fixed, and geared up to produce them in abundance).

Finally, with all the gearing up of the Exposed Weave, the stock Satin Black Insert would experience sporadic supply issues for the remainder of the production run. (HINT - Now the black one would be the "iffy" one to order!!)

Sounds like the big machine is rollin now with some 90 per day being built. With 450 per week possible, we could be seeing another thousand built during March on top of the current 800 or so. That'd put total built around 1500. Awful close to that rumored 1969 or 2012 units "guesstimated:.....

I got the exposed and I'm in the third DOSP... In fact the satin black was on constraint at the time

Mine was built early and was only allowed to get the satin black , but wanted the exposed one ......If anybody wants to switch let me know ??

You should have received a six digit order number from your dealer when you placed your order. With that six digit alpha/numeric number, go to GMConnects.com and enter your information. You should start receiving information and updates from them as your status changes. Good luck.

Ordered the black one now I am not sure if I should change.I am at 3000.Gm needs to get on the stick with this one.

Thanks. I just registered! So I guess I have to wait a day for it to update. Hopefully it's better than the Chevy.com website.
