Remove gfx without damage?
Has anyone installed their gfx and removed it without damage? If so, were you able to put it back on? I have mine on but think I may want to paint it but want it taken off of the car first. Plus I don't like the round exhaust tips showing through the square openings of the rear portion. I want to have square tips installed. I was told it has to be removed in order to do that. Any tips?

Use a hair dryer to soften the tape, pull gently to remove and clean off remaining residue with GOOP.

this will be the most heart aching thing you will do...
as shockandawe said... heat it up... but be careful not to damage paint... you will leave residue behind.. and it will be a PITA to get it off with anything... so be patient... when u loose patience u will become reckless and end up scratching ur clearcoat... been there done that... :(

uh, doesnt the OP mean Ground Effects? FX usually stands for Effects... GFX doesnt mean "Graphics"... So i dont think the OP was talking about getting rid of stripes... lol.
Correct me if im wrong =p -EDIT: I don't have GFX myself... but i assumed it was bolted on, instead of adhesives.

The rear panel is mostly attached with 3M tape, the front splitter is rivited & taped.
If everything is well secured, at this point I'd say have them painted on the car. As far as the exhaust, you can probably change the tips without removing the rear GFX maybe even unbolting the exhaust from the cats & hangers and shifting it forward if needed.

Just had mine removed, painted, then put back on a few weeks ago. No problems, but the dealer did it, not me.

The GFX are attached with tape and plastic rivets. Even the rear diffuser has some rivets in it. You don't need to remove the rear diffuser to replace the exhaust tips--I've done it with mine. My dealer wants $1,300 to remove, paint and reinstall my GFX. I've thought of having them painted on the car, but I think that's second best. Even though I think leaving them on the car will avoid potential of having them fall off. I haven't gotten an independent bid for removal/reinstall and painting from anyone else, but I'm not crazy about spending $1,300 so I've held off.

You can remove the bezels in the GFX to monkey with your tips. That's what I did. I put the 4.5" tips on my Solo, but had to cut the tubes down a re-tack the tips. Bezels are kind of a PITA but much better than removing the whole rear piece. I had a paint shop quote me $1k to remove, paint and re-install my GFX. I don't think he knew what he was getting in to. My car is CGM, so I left it gray.

My dealer said they could take them off no problem. A lot of people are having trouble keeping them on. If the dealer don't let them sit for 24hours after installation they will probably just fall off anyway.
