I have a 2ss a6, cai inc, and borla "s" axleback. I made the decision on the "s" because of the lower bass sound. Raspy makes my ears hurt. I do have a drone at about 1800 rpm, I try to stay above or below that. I am tempted to due a tune but do not want to forfeit my warranty. Other than the drone, it is a great improvement over the factory oem mufflers.

Question about exhaust

Ive had my 2SS since May 09 and have done nothing performance wise. Only cosmetic. Maybe it's because I'm a girl Well now I'm ready for adding a little tweaks here and there. Nothing major. Keep in mind I know NOTHING about the engine part of the car. I've been looking and I see a Performance Exhaust Upgrade Kit (92206992) from GM. Is that something that would give me a noticable hp increase or is it only for sound? Is that something that has to be combined with something else or can you just add that on alone? Also, does anyone else have this and if so do you like the sound of it? I'm looking for deep and throaty. What else could anyone recommend for a noticable difference? I'm a poor girl so keep it on the thrifty side.

I see a lot of guys here cutting out the mufflers and replacing with a straight pipe to get a more aggressive sound...Any muffler shop can do it and it costs about $100 more or less...

In texas the law says you have to have a muffler. I am sure some have cut them off, but eventually when you go to get an inspection the man will say NO WAY!!

That's right, we should always consider emissions and muffler laws in our own state before touching our exhaust, so if you do have stringent laws, might be good to stick with the GM upgrade and keep the peace

Now is the Borla Atak a little more raspy as compared to the Borla type S?

See i definitely want loud and raspy, i have MRT V1 on my vs right now with an injen CAI. Which is basically one of the loudest combinations (some say too loud), i would be fine with it being somewhat louder but i dont want it to be just too much.

Found a couple sound clips but mostly sounded like engine besides some rasp
